Genny (Geneva) will be 20 on the 30th of this month, and is a sophomore at UAB on an academic scholarship. She recently moved into the little house on my property with her friend from Vinemont, Alabama, who is also a student at UAB, so they are 'sort of' independent. Genny is the Young Single Adult rep at church and also teaches the Young Women.
Nat (Nathaniel) turned 18 this past July and is a freshman at UAB on a music scholarship. He plays the euphonium and is first chair in the wind symphony. He is also playing in a quartet with some students at Samford and is having a great time. Nat is Secretary in the Young Men's group at church and is looking forward to leaving on a mission next summer.
Jonathan (usually JONATHAN!!!) will be 14 in January and is in the 8th grade. He plays tuba in the band and has a lot of energy and a wild imagination. (This is not a very good picture of him - I'll try to post newer, better pictures of all of them soon.)
Ben (Benjamin) is 10 and in the 5th grade. He does very well in school and is a very quick thinker, as well as a being a good athlete (see his tough face?)
Ben tells me all the time how awesome he is. I think they all are.

Nat I love your hair in that picture. And first chair is a great accomplishment especially in college. Will you get to keep your scholarship while you serve your mission?
Jonathan and the tuba that is a big instrument. I bet you have some good muscles from holding that.

Nat's scholarship is set up to be year-by-year, which was an answer to our prayers - That means he re-auditions each year - so he can go on his mission and then just come back and re-audition to get back in. Also, the young man who played the euphonium before him, whose place Nat took, is serving a mission right now, so the music department is familiar with this scenario and he shouldn't have any problem.
