3 Favorite Christmas Gifts you have gotten

1.My Camera I do love my camera.

2.A shadowbox from my mom and dad that has a silver spoon and a silver coin and a little note that says you weren’t born with a silver spoon in your mouth but you can have one as you grow old. (my dad actually made the shadowbox so it is very special)

3.A cute little bird pin that Irene and Gloyd gave me when I was about 10. They didn’t have much money but each year they would give us all something and I loved it and thought it was beautiful and now as I’m older it really means more to me to think about what they did without to get us all (about 40) something each year.

3 Favorite Christmas Memories

1.The year we went to New Zealand via my mom’s house for my sister-in-law who was homesick. We had kiwi birds and a swimming pool and the ugliest tree I have ever seen. It makes the Charlie Brown tree look good. When Lorraine saw it she said that looks just like the trees we had back home in New Zealand. My mom just said well money is pretty tight this year, not wanting to spoil the surprise but how happy we were.

2.The year my mom decided to give us all our childhood wishes. We were all married and these were the things we wanted as a child but didn’t get.

Russell got a $5.00 shirt.

Lanice got an EasyBake Oven.

I got an Izod shirt.

I don’t remember what Bruce and Vicki got.

3.The year we all got Marshmallow guns from my dad and immediately broke out into a marshmallow war right there in the house. I have never seen so many marshmallows in my life and blankets grabbed for cover so quickly.

Okay and I have to throw in there the year Russell gave all the boys nerd glasses and my bald nephew a wig. Or the year Lorraine made my mom a 6.5 million dollar bra and we all put it on and she wore it for all the pictures.

A new favorite would be “The Christmas Choir”

"The Little Drummer Boy". He is so cute in that cartoon and another song.

"How the Grinch Stole Christmas" since I live with the Grinch why not.

3 Christmas Traditions

Each year we get Pajama's for Christmas Eve. That way we look good for the pictures.

We have something different to eat each year at my mom's on Christmas Eve. One year it was soups, one year it had to be from a fast food restaurant. One year everything you brought had to be purchased with a coupon.

My new favorite tradition is that instead of drawing names for the adults we do White Elephant and it is so fun to watch the fussing and fighting over what you get and what you want.
